So I just received a message from mxtoolbox that my server has been listed by the BSB Domain blacklist...
"The BSB is a database of IP addresses that have sent "comment spam". "

The BSB website is no longer active, so I can't check for details there:

Since this is about comment spam, the mail logs are not helpful.
Any idea how to detect the culprit...?

Same here. And I defo don't have an open relay or anything like that. I regularly (every hour) block IPs, that are trying to hack the email server (bruteforcing the password). I've checked the mailboxes and their Sent Items folders, nothing obvious came up....

Yeah I got that too around the same time. Mine referred to a domain name rather than a server. I've only sent 4 emails from that domain over the last week. Possibly being used on a form as spamming maybe? I had SPF and DKIM on the domain that's blacklisted, so I've just added DMARC. See if that helps.

Actually this sounds like the intended behavior based on this output:

More Information About Bsb

On 4/17/2020 the BSB blacklist listed the whole internet indicating they have shut down the list. If you received an alert about being listed, you can safely ignore it as no one should be using this list to block email anymore.

The BSB is a database of IP addresses that have sent "comment spam".

More information about BSB can be found at their website:
Code:
http://bsb.spamlookup.net/
Note that the link provided in their information is a dead link but they blacklisted the entire internet

My heart-rate is slowly returning to normal, since as a mail server admin, I did not expect that. We're constantly battling the "evil forces" and this sort of suggested we didn't do a good job. But if you say they listed the whole freaking internet, and it has nothing to do with our mail server security, that brings my mind to peace. Now I can stop sweating, because, boy, I really thought something was going on and the sweat-level went through the roof....

Yep I got that right from MxToolBox. It seems a really non-productive way to go about it, especially when they've also shut down their site.

Even we got notification from mxtoolbox about domain blacklist. Was a matter of concern then looked at your post and got relief. The domain name spamlookup.net has expired a few hours ago either because of their negligence or shut down. Thats why their site is not accessible and mxtoolbox is giving false alarm of domain blacklist.
Update: They renewed in last few hours.

After my last reply checked again on mxtoolbox. They have removed BSB from their list.
