    Just found this in /usr/local

    drwxrwx--- 2 root root 4096 Feb 19 2008 BUAgent

And within that directory, we have this:

    -r-xr-x--- 1 root root 2194346 Oct 5 2006 AgtUpgd
    -rw-rw---- 1 root root 784 Feb 19 2008 Global.vvc
    -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 377 Feb 19 2008 Install.log
    -rw-rw---- 1 root root 105 Jan 21 02:42 Inventry.rpt
    -rw-rw---- 1 root root 157 Feb 19 2008 Schedule.cfg
    -r-xr-x--- 1 root root 8861 Oct 5 2006 uninstall.sh
    -r-xr-x--- 1 root root 2433553 Oct 5 2006 VV
    -r-xr-x--- 1 root root 2639293 Oct 5 2006 VVAgent
    -rw-rw---- 1 root root 4142 Jan 21 02:42 VVAgent.LOG
    -rw-r----- 1 root root 6 Jan 21 02:42 vvlog

Looks like it runs a few times per month, found a log file with these kinds of entries:

    Jan21 02:42 AGNT-I-0218 Agent Version 5.60.2178 Oct 3 2006 14:33:20
    Jan21 02:42 AGNT-I-0031 job started at 21-JAN-2010 02:42:14.00 -0600
    Jan21 02:42 AGNT-I-0001 populating process list...
    Jan21 02:42 AGNT-I-0001 done

Question - What the heck is it?

I am not finding this on any ohter server.

    Hi,

This is most possibly the R1Soft backup agent.

    Best regards

    Thanks Jan, but what's that?

I'm the hostmaster for this server, and I don't recall installing such a thing.

    Hi,

Maybe someone else could shed some light on this.
The files does not seem to be related to R1Soft except for the name BUAgent, which is also written all lowercase on a R1Soft install.

    Best regards
