To be clear --

the failure to update to CPanel build 53 has nothing to do with the Interchange hack, it is a separate problem?

The attempted update will overwite the hacked Server.pm, if you chattr +i Server.pm the update will not overwrite it.[/quote:cca591d93a]

hi curious too

we were talking about build 53 and - normally everyone is not wise enough to have the chattr +i Server.pm set on their server.

ITF posted it for the information because it would get overwrite if the build was proper and would have had a proper update.

because of the faiilure in updating build 53 - its not overwritten.

first read all the posts..

Your sarcasm is not appreciated.

I did read all the posts. I hacked the Server.pm file according to the instructions. When I ran the upcp script the hacked file was overwritten with the old Server.pm file. I then re-hacked the file and chattr +i the file and ran the upcp script. Even though the Server.pm file was not overwritten the server DID NOT update to Build 53.[/quote:cca591d93a]

by the way i was not sarcastic - and if you feel so then you should also look at your first post...

from your post you are trying to show that everyone talking on this particular thread - thats me / itf / mikerayner are fools and have no clue about the cpanel updates and the interchange exploit.

so chill out - this is a discussion and if you felt i was sarcastic then i am sorry..

have a nice time

My first post asked the question:

How is this making people look like fools?

parag & Curious Too please calm down, this is a support forum, we are friends :)

also build 53 which all of us tried and got the same result; failed to upgrade but it overwrote the cpanel software you can make sure by upgrading via /scripts/upcp in a root SSH session however it doesn't affect cpanel version

But you two please let us get a result

Wait until tomorrow Nick will solve build 53 and everything will be ended up.

Also Nick it would be very appreciated if you apply ITF's Interchange hack to the next cpanel build.
