    gcc -Wall -Wstrict-prototypes -O2 -fomit-frame-pointer -DLOCALE -I/usr/include/ncurses -DCURSES_LOC=&&ncurses.h&& -c -o lxdialog.o lxdialog.c

I had the exact same issues. Ran /scripts/fixheaders now, and it's working like a charm! :)

    Hi,

    I tried /scripts/fixheaders. That didn't work..
    Then I tried
    root@UNIVEX2 [~]# rpm -Uvh --force glibc-2.2.5-34.i386.rpm
    Preparing... ########################################### [100%]
    1:glibc ########################################### [100%]
    root@UNIVEX2 [~]#

So I take it that reinstalled my glibc??

If so, it still doesn't work. I still get all those errors when trying to buildapache.. Someone PLEASE help me out.. Thanks.

The correct method for reinstalling glibc package is this:

First query which packages are installed by this command

    rpm -qa | grep 'glibc'

in a sample RH 7.3 box it shows:
    glibc-2.2.5-34
    glibc-common-2.2.5-34
    glibc-devel-2.2.5-34
    glibc-kernheaders-2.4-7.14

Download and copy these files in a same folder
    glibc-2.2.5-34.i686.rpm
    glibc-common-2.2.5-34.i386.rpm
    glibc-devel-2.2.5-34.i386.rpm
    glibc-kernheaders-2.4-7.14.i386.rpm

Use this command to reinstall packages and all of its dependencies

    rpm -Uvh --replacepkgs glibc*.rpm

Is PHP installed with the new buildapache? Do we get a choice of not reinstalling it?

    Yes, it certainly is included.
A choice for not installing it? Yea in your apache build options I think you can deselect PHP as a whole- but remember then when the build is complete your new apache configuration won't have ANY support for php.

So you'd have to go in and manually edit your httpd.conf to make it see your old php build.

    Sounds like hell on earth?
    ;)

Thanks Feanor. I'd rather keep the current PHP 4.2.1 internal installs intact just in case something gets screwed up. ;)

Do we get asked of these options or do we need to edit a config file? It seems that with the beginner level no options are offered, although I may be misinformed on this.
