    Hi,
I ran /scripts/easyapache and chose option #5... it goes for a bit and then get the following error:

    Installing PHP SAPI module
cp: cannot stat `sapi/cgi/php': No such file or directory
    make: *** [install-sapi] Error 1

I am really stuck and would appeciate any and all help. I ran easyapache twice with the same result. :(

I am glad that I am not alone. I would like to add a PHP module but can't because of this error.

Hmm I tried yesterday and it got stuck in a loop of "Scanning suexec.log...done" for over 1hr.

Since then, things seem fine as far as serving pages, but my phpsysinfo page giving me 'Forbidden error' and my sciript to check status is not working. :(

    I am kinda nervous on re-running ...

The new buildapache received the same error for me:

    Installing PHP SAPI module
cp: cannot stat `sapi/cgi/php': No such file or directory
    make: *** [install-sapi] Error 1

It seems that if I disabled curl and curl-ssl support that it compiles fine. However, I need curl and curl-ssl support on many boxes.

Bummer, I did compile without Curl and Curl-SSL support. You used option #6?

    What I do is this:

    make clean
    rm -f config.cache config.status
    echo CGI/CLI executable
    ./configure --prefix=/usr --enable-cgi --enable-cli --with-xml $args
    echo "#undef COMPILE_DL_ZLIB" >> main/php_config.h
    echo "#define HAVE_SENDMAIL 1" >> main/php_config.h
    make
    make install

    make clean
    rm -f config.cache config.status
    echo Apache Module
    ./configure --with-apxs=/usr/local/apache/bin/apxs --disable-cgi --disable-cli --with-xml $args
    echo "#undef COMPILE_DL_ZLIB" >> main/php_config.h
    echo "#define HAVE_SENDMAIL 1" >> main/php_config.h
    make
    make install

That's the only way that always works for me.
