Im planning to build my own MyAccount driven site on our hosting facility, we use CPANEL for it. I was just wondering if it would be possible for me to access some of CPanel's data/database like the users/password, domain pointed to that user, plans used, accounts on that user, etc.

I have some theory already. example the username and password.

I'll be accessing the /etc/passwd and /etc/shadow for the authentication, since i think it's what the cpanel is using (a guess ok).

Could i access the users db of cpanel? i mean where do cpanel store the accounts and plans, etc .am planning to build a php my account page, that will actually list all their info, etc. im aware that cpanel has this already, but i want to create something on my own, and i'll be customizing it more.

hope i can get good response on this, my idea is not to reverse engineer something on cpanel, but to just use the db and make my own.

    Account info is in /var/cpanel/users/username.
