Hi, now that cPanel is going to be installable on Ubuntu, are there any plans to integrate CageFS functionality?

I'm aware that it is a CloudLinux functionality, but I don't really need all that CloudLinux includes like PHP selector (cPanel already includes one), Site Analizer, x-Ray, etc...

If we could integrate CageFS and the CPU/RAM limiter for cPanel accounts with Ubuntu, it would be a big step forward.

Thanks.

Thanks for getting that submitted. I did approve the feature request, but I doubt this is something that will be implemented as CageFS is part of CloudLinux, which currently request a RedHat-based Linux distribution to convert, or a clean CloudLinux installation:

It really depends on what you plan to offer the clients and how many resources they will use. If there is a risk of one client abusing the server resources, I would strongly recommend CloudLinux as you can limit the CPU and RAM usage for each account. If these are personal accounts where you know the users and the content and don't expect high traffic, Ubuntu is just fine.
