Our customer email accounts are currently outsourced. The company does not offer secure email via ssl. We are considering running our own mail server to rectify this and save money. Years ago, we ran a Postfix server but the system maintenance was substantial. We currently have several cPanel hosting servers for various clients and the email operates quite well with little maintenance or support required. None of these domains have more that 20 email accounts.
We have over 2,000 email accounts for one domain. I would like to know if anyone is running a cPanel server with this number or more accounts and does it handle this ok. Also, how would we migrate existing email stored on the outsourced servers if we get no help from the outsourcing company.
I would appreciate on input or links on this.
