I'm in the market for a managed ded server with WHM, etc. I know I can set up reseller accounts, but can my resellers also create their own resellers? Each site they'd set up would have a minimal charge to cover support that inevitably we'd provide.

    Do you have any recommendations?

Will WHM Autopilot do this as well?

I don't know about WHM AutoPilot, but I know in WHM that if you want a reseller to create resellers, you have to basically give that reseller root permissions...

In the reseller setup, there's an option for "All privilages" that opens your server up wide, but that's the only way that I know of giving resellers permission to create resellers.

Have them notify you by email to setup a reseller account on their behalf, and charge them a nominal fee for this :D ...

    I agree with that!

If you let resellers create resellers then you won't be in control of the amount of accounts that are on your server. The server could get over crowded real quick.

    That would work. Thanks.

It would be great if WHM did that within a jail, as opposed to an open root environment, but your suggested solution will do it. As far as not knowing how many resellers your resellers had could be addressed by WHM. But waiting for this improvement probably dictates that a simple reorder for another reseller package from an existing reseller would be the way to go--the only way since the configuration is simply not there...yet. Of course, the second reseller package would be discounted for that reseller.

Whose jail? your whm wouldn't be able to track YOUR accounts them...
whm is a shared process for all resellers, and the option that was mentioned didn't need to imply a root shell... Just the fact that you can change Other resellers's limits is bad enough.

    Re: yes

Sounds very promising. I wonder if WHM AutoPilot can do this?
