    Hi,

I've never experienced in cPanel and would like to know more. From the demo of other similar software such as plesk and ensim, I can see that they allow you work as an administrator to control your server or client. But most of the cPanel demo just shows the client interface. I can't find a really working demo for cPanel administrator interface. So I'd like to ask some stupid questions if you don't mind.

    1. Can cPanel use to add new client or reseller?
    2. Do cPanel support templete on hosting package?
    3. Can cPanel allow a client/user on telnet/shell access?
    4. Does anyone know a full working demo on cPanel?

    Regards,
    Brian

The "administrator interface" is provided through WHM (Web Hosting Mgr.) and is only provided to a Reseller or Server owner. As WHM works a bit different than the other CPs, I seriously doubt you will find a demo for it. Without some serious hacking of WHM, one would have to dedicate a whole Server or Reseller account and the potential for abuse would be huge.

Best way to learn about WHM is to download the Manual (from cpanel.net) or get yourself a Reseller account. Another option, if you Linux Admin skills or computers are second-nature to you, is to bite the bullet and get a Server with WHM/Cpanel installed. Just remembered, there is a 15 day trial you can download as well.

Majordomo is integrated in cpanel but gives you a completly different manager to use, has all the options necesary for a good mailing list..

    Re: Thank You

Why dont you get a demo license from Cpanel. Then you could run it for 15days to see how everthing works.

Is there a (safe) way to install and use majordomo on a cpanel box?

I am wondering the same thing (majordomo). I'd really prefer to use that over mailman. Mailman was installed on a host I had a while back and I just never really liked it all that much. The configuration was kind of counter-intuitive and it just wasn't as standard as majordomo.

Would my best bet be to just download and compile the source or is there a more integrated way? Something with the web interface majorcool would be ideal.

If majordoma can work with exim, then it will just work just fine. Just compile it and use it, i dont see a problem.

Where you ever able to find a mailing list program that you could install and use with cpanel controlled systems? Since CPanel will not allow you to backup the files, I need something I can install in my directory structure that will work.

    Any Ideas?
