I was looking at the bash_history of one of my users, and I noticed that he issued the command, "bash". Wondering what he was doing, I quickly tried this myself.
    jailshell-2.05a$ bash
    Now, the command prompt says:
    bash-2.05a$

Does this mean that the user is no longer jailed?

bash is quite possibly the best shell available.

you shouldnt have anything to stress about...

Or, in other words, there shouldn't be anything to worry about. Your users should be able to run any shell that they want and they'll still be living inside the jailed environment.

    As a test, try this

    ipa@ns1 [~]# ls /home
    ipa/
    ipa@ns1 [~]#

As you can see, it's still jailed.

(This assuming, of course, that the cPanel jailshell doesn't have any security flaws that can allow it to be broken, but that wasn't the question.)
