After the apache en php upgrade I cannot login to any of the e-mailaddress through horde.
It gives an error, saying the login information was incorrect. This is not true.
I think imap was screwed up or something. However, my phpinfo says imap was compiled and loaded..

    What can i do?

    Same Problem

Hopefully they roll out a fix REALLY soon. I upgraded because of the security flaws in PHP < 4.3.8 , but losing all email is worse. really.

Anyone get a fix for this yet?

I'm trying to fix this for a Freebsd machine.

    /var/log/maillog:

Aug 4 04:40:17 bsd imapd: chdir "/home/test/mail/": Permission denied
Aug 4 04:40:51 bsd imapd: chdir "/home/test/mail/": Permission denied
Aug 4 04:41:07 bsd last message repeated 2 times
    Aug 4 04:42:15 bsd imapd: LOGOUT, ip=[::ffff:127.0.0.1]

The /home/test/mail/ directory has the correct permissions.

I keep getting this login error when trying to log into Horde:

Login failed for some reason. Most likely your username or password was entered incorrectly.

And yes, the user/pass is correct.

    rebuild apache with minimum options,

then upgrade cpanel to 'RELEASE' version

    run update software
    run update server software etc

then re-run apache with options you require.

That, unfortunately, still did not work for me.

I fixed it. This is how I did it:

    cp -f /usr/local/cpanel/3rdparty/bin/imapd /usr/sbin/imapd
    /scripts/restartsrv imap

    That worked :)

    Thank you :)

Must make note though... I'm sure this will bite us in the future when imapd gets updated and we've now broken the symlink.

    How to fix symlink? :(

I tried this fix and it turned out to not be the one I needed to fix my problem, and I want to repair whatever I broke :(

    I don't believe it's a symlink. so there's nothing to worry about.

The problem for incorrect login for Horde webmail OR the imap problem for Squirrelmail is often caused due to failure of imap service on the server.
We first need to try restarting the service. Some times the imap service is not restarted even after the following commands :

    service xinetd restart
    OR
    /etc/rc.d/initd.d/xinetd restart
    OR
    /scripts/restartsrv_xinetd
    OR
    /scripts/restartsrv_inetd
    OR
    /scripts/imap

This means that the IMAP service is in hung state and it needs to be killed and restarted. When any of the above commands do not work, then try this :

    killall -KILL cpimap

This should kill the imap on the server. Then restart the service using :

    /scripts/restartsrv_imap
    AND
    /scripts/restartsrv_xinetd

    This should definately work :)
