    Want to change the mail headers to reflect the domains that are sending the mail not the main server name. I know this is possible I have seenothers do it. Thanks in advance for any help.

    Custom mail headers?

    Hi,
    I too would like to know how to have the mail headers reflect the each accounts domain instead of the server's host name in the 'return-path' and 'received' fields of the mail header. I too know it can be done except I can't seem to remember where I originally found this information.
    thanks,
    David

    Yeah, it's possible. I went to check out the documentation for exim's configuration file, and after few mins of testing, I came up w/ this:
    ---

    received_header_text = &Received: \
    ${if def:sender_rcvhost {from ${sender_rcvhost}\n\t}\
    {${if def:sender_ident {from ${sender_ident} }}\
    ${if def:sender_helo_name {(helo=${sender_helo_name})\n\t}}}}\
    by ${if def:received_for {mail.${domain:$received_for}}{$primary_hostname}}$
    ${if def:received_protocol {with ${received_protocol}}} \
    ${if def:tls_cipher {($tls_cipher)\n\t}}\
    (Exim ${version_number} #${compile_number})\n\t\
    id ${message_id}\
    ${if def:received_for {\n\tfor $received_for}}&

    ---

    This only works for messages sent to only one person in your domain. I haven't figured out how to do it for the case where there are multiple receipients. Just put that in the main configuration part of exim.conf.
