I was wondering, how possible would it be to have a script like this run everyday, maybe using cronjobs?

    - automatically back up the site (using the same tool that the backup feature in cpanel uses)
    - mail the backed up .gz compressed file to a specified email address
    - delete the backed up compressed file.

seems like it is possible to have that done... how can i automate this?

    thanks!

emailing isn't a problem, i'd be forwarding it to a system that downloads mail all the time and has enormous bandwidth and no storage limitations...

the thing is though how could i modify the script to mail the file as an attachment, any clue?? i've been messing around with the mail option in php but i still havne't managed to send an attachment correctly...

you can do it 2 ways, or make a script who gzips it and mail it and put this script in a cron or do the same thing but then with php ;)
