Hi, Group.

Can you edit an e-mail forwarder or do you have to delete it then add a new one? I have many forwarders all going to one account. I now wish to change the root account and point all my forwarders to that new account. Do I have to delete / add or is there some sort of script I can run to do this for me?

I use CPanel with LunarPages.

Thanks, Max

They're stored in /etc/valiases/domain_name.

I couldn't get access to the file as suggested.

Where do I post requests for enhancement? I think it would be a good feature to allow e-mail forwarders to be editable. Now I am faced with deleting and creating 85 forwarders. I don't expect a new script to be added to run bulk updates but at least being able to edit the details would cut my task in half.

I would also love to have something along these lines as well. The thought of manually having to delete recreate so many entries is daunting, when a script (or something) would take only a second or two.

Actually, I can't seem to find the file specified above: /etc/valiases/domain, even though I do have email forwarders defined.

Thanks for listening...

That path is from the server root, not an account root.

End users don't have access to the directory where the forwarder files are kept, but they do have permissions to edit that file. If you have shell access the file can be edited directly. Without shell access it can be edited with a perl or PHP script.
