Hi

We had a cPanel branding style designed and I applied it to all accounts. But now I cannot acces the x3 branding editor anymore. I just see:
Currently Selected Style: customstyle
If a cPanel user does not choose a style, he or she will use: [root]

I cannot delete a style nor edit a style or choose another one.

I hope somebody can help me.

Thanks!

You could try editing the account via WHM and set your own style back to the default X3.

When you do, can you now access the branding features? If yes, your custom theme may be missing some things. I'm just guessing of course.
I tried changing the style but get an error when I click on home. Cannot login to cPanel with root either. Maybe I can delete the style using SSH?

I'm not sure I understand.

In WHM > Account Functions > Modify an Account, select an account using this new custom style, click Modify. Now select x3 from the cPanel Theme drop down menu, save.

Logout, close all browser windows then go back to that accounts cPanel that should now be using the x3 theme.

Does cPanel and all functions there work properly using this theme?

To reset the style or branding package used for viewing the X3 Branding Live Editor, please try accessing one of the following WebHost Manager URLs directly from your browser, while ensuring to replace "$server" by substituting the server hostname, server IP address, or a cPanel-account domain name; the appropriate URL to use depends on if you are logged-in as "root" (i.e., Administrator) or if you are logged-in as a reseller, as noted below:
  • Via "root" Administrator access to WHM; use this if your WHM login username is "root":
    • SSL/HTTPS:
      Code:
      https://[B]$server[/B]:2087/xfercpanel/cpanel?theme=x3&goto_uri=/frontend/x3/resellers/branding/switchstyle.html?brandingpkg=
    • Non-SSL/HTTP:
      Code:
      http://[B]$server[/B]:2086/xfercpanel/cpanel?theme=x3&goto_uri=/frontend/x3/resellers/branding/switchstyle.html?brandingpkg=
  • Via reseller access to WHM; use this if your WHM login username is not "root":
Note: Resellers must replace $resellerusername by substituting the WHM username that was used to login.
    • SSL/HTTPS:
      Code:
      https://[B]$server[/B]:2087/xfercpanel/[B]$resellerusername[/B]?theme=x3&goto_uri=/frontend/x3/resellers/branding/switchstyle.html?brandingpkg=
    • Non-SSL/HTTP:
      Code:
      http://[B]$server[/B]:2086/xfercpanel/[B]$resellerusername[/B]?theme=x3&goto_uri=/frontend/x3/resellers/branding/switchstyle.html?brandingpkg=
If Security (session) Tokens are enabled, you may be prompted to authenticate, or authenticate again if you were already logged-in, using your WHM username and password to confirm the action; the form submit button may read "Click here to proceed with the current request."

Just thought I'd mention that I am experiencing the exact same problem. I can no longer access the Branding Editor correctly when logged in to CPanel as the reseller.

All I see on the page is:

Available Branding Styles

Currently Selected Style: [root]
If a cPanel user does not choose a style, he or she will use: [root]

However if I manually enter the URL in my address bar, it works:
https://[hostname]:2083/frontend/x3/resellers/branding/edit_bpkg.html?brandingpkg=

(the reseller username is "branding" in this particular instance)

I also want to add that I am having tremendous problems integrating new icons into my new theme. I have successfully added icons using the web tool you are offering on your site but it does not offer me all the necessary flexibility so have tried configuring them manually using the .conf files. The categories and category contents appear just fine, but the graphical icons do not! Despite having uploaded the png files to both the reseller theme directory as well as the root theme directory and running the sprites script repeatedly. Am very stuck.

EDIT: Turns out I was editing the x3 theme directly. Copied the changes into its own style folder within the x3 folder in my reseller cpanel account. While the Branding Editor still did not work within that style, switching styles back to root then allows me to work with the Branding Editor as expected (don't think this is intended to work this way, so there seems to be something up for this). Also, running the sprite script from within the cPanel branding editor (there's a link at the bottom) seems to have activated my icons in the cpanel, whereas previously running the command line script as root did not.
