    Hi there,

I seem to have problem in downloading MySQL backup via MyPHPAdmin. Larger databases, ex. more than 10MB, are causing MyPHPAdmin to time out.

Is there any remedy for this?

    Thanks
    Cretu

    Dear cretu,

PhpMyAdmin does have a tendency to time out with PHP files. If you have telnet access .. you can do it with mysqldump command.

    mysqldump dbname -u username -p[password] > file

    where
    -p[password] is without space.

    or

You can try doing it from command line..

    mysql dbname -u [username] -p[password] < sql_file_name

You can look for some other mysql tools for the same.

    Regards,

    Hi,

Yes, I know about alternative ways to backup and restore database however my clients don't. And they shouldn't know since they understand that this feature will take care of this. I wonder if cPanel plans on releasing feature to actually take backups of databases apart of MyPHPAdmin?
