Cannot login from console

After installing cpanel unable to login from root on console.

ssh via putty works fine, whm web login works fine. Just unable from hyper-v virtual console.

Are you attempting to access the Hyper-V administrative interface itself, or to access SSH from that interface? Have you reported the issue to your provider to verify if that's how it's designed to work?

We have direct RDP access to the Dedi. This is from Hyper-V Manager clicking the virtual machine and hitting connect, or remote connect to Hyper-V it's self from another Hyper-V host via Connect to Server.

Seems to be an issue with the CentOS (2.6.32-642.4.2.e16.x86_64) installed by cPanel
If the kernel CentOS 6 (2.6.32-642.4.2.e16.x86_64) which is Kernel before cPanel was installed is selected at boot then root login works fine.

Im guessing some i386 libraries are being used or something but I unsure what to check.

I recommend reaching out to your provider for additional support, as there's nothing in the cPanel configuration to manage remote desktop access. This suggests an issue with the Hyper-V Manager application.

Just wanted to post that this does appear to be caused by cPanel after installation, it's appears to do something with CentOS built in LIS services. Can be fixed by running yum install hyperv-daemons after cPanel install and reboot.

Thank you for taking the time to update this thread with the outcome. It's generally advised to install cPanel on a minimal instance of CentOS. Third-party packages such as hyperv-dameons should be installed after the cPanel installation completes.
