Cannot login to WHM with root

Hello,

I've been able to log into WHM with root and the normal cPanel console with user accounts for months now, but just today its started acting strangely. I'm trying to login to WHM with my root account but when I authenticate in the pop-up authentication window it fails. If I cancel out of that and go to the web login screen and enter the same credentials, it acts like its working but then pops up the authentication window again, which continues to fail.

Basically, any time its the HTML-based authentication it acts like its working, but any other time it isn't.

Any advice on how to correct this issue?

Are you currently able to login via root SSH access?

Are any users able to login via cPanel (i.e., non-root users)?

Are any messages logged to the cPanel error_log?

/usr/local/cpanel/logs/error_log
