Cannot login

I've just installed Cpanel-6.4.2-RELEASE_79-Linux-i686-glibc-2.1.txt, but I can't login into Cpanel.

As written in the install instructions, i should login with root. Maybe it's not allowed to log in as root, I know that user root has to much power to do so.

What can I do to make it work, we would like to buy Cpanel after seen it working.

i downloaded cpanel and asked for a demo licence

i have a demo licence. I asked for a testing licence, and the IP adress of the server was added, said Cpanel.
