cannot open download of web site

Have tried to download my pages from cpanel so that i can edit them but i am unable to open. the file ends in GZ. any one advise how i can download and open with html editor. thanks.

The easiest way for you is to setup an ftp client for file transfers.
Google for ftp clients

the tar.gz is a pack/compression of your entire site. If that is what you want
then use a utility such as winrar to unpack them.
