I am getting a very similar error. Anybody?

I would like to just reinstall MySQL completely. the server name PID file is replaced with .err

    example:
    server.name.com.err

    instead of

    server.name.com.pid

    in /var/lib/mysql

Can someone post the best way to reinstall MySQL
