I am trying to transfer a website to a new server. After that failed, I copied the backup of that domain to the new server and tried to restore. Both attempts fail with this error:

Could not restore account “example”: Account Restore Failed: “The value “www.example.net” for the “DNS” key in the cPanel user attributes file failed to validate because of an error: (XID f3bpdr) The system cannot accept “www.example.net” as a domain name

I have tried to remove the www prefix everywhere I find it like in the various /etc/domain files, in DNS records etc.
How can I get this website on the new server?

Thanks,
RAS

Hello @mauinet

Is www.example.net the name of the primary domain on the account? If so if you change the name of the account on the source server then attempt to move it, do you still encounter the issue?

Hello, thank you for the response. The old server is gone now. So I am trying to restore from the backup file and still get the same
error message.
