can't access awstats after username change

After a username was changed, we are now having problems accessing AWStats from the control panel on that account, it seems it is still looking for the old username account:

Error: awstats failed to create directory DirData (DirData="/home/olduser/tmp/awstats/", CreateDirDataIfNotExists=1).

I have replaced the username with 'olduser' which is the username we changed the account from. That should obviously be the new username. Is there a fix available for this?

you might want to try deleting the /tmp folder in /home/<user>/.

Then let the server rerun the stats for awstat and create a new list and everything, after that it should work again.
