Can't change permissions or make changes to files

    Hi everyone
    first of all Cpanelz working a treat! cheers!!

    i've been having a problem lately, when i try to rename a file or make changes to it i get a fatal error, then i tried changing the file permissions but even then i get a "FileOp Failure on: /home/sitename/directoryname/filename: Operation not permitted" message. Can you please tell me wats gone wrong?
    sorry i'm as noobish as ever.

    Solution

    You need to check the ownership for your file /home/sitename/directoryname/filename if its nobody.nobody than change it to your cPanel user name as well as check the permission.If you are still having problem than contact your hosting provider and consult this issue with them

    Generally this error occurs if the FTP user doesn't have enough permissions or the files/folders owns by other user. You will require contacting your hosting provider to fix the permissions/ownership of the files/folders.
