Can't login to ProFTP

I just started receiving an error when attempting to login to ProFTP...

Here's the error I get on the client side...

ERROR:> Can't read from control socket. Socket error = #10054.
STATUS:> Waiting 30 seconds...


Here's a message on the server /var/log/messages file...

Unable to read the indexed puredb file (or old format detected) - Try pure-pw mkdb


(I'm still running RH FC2, I'm concerned that the Cpanel updates are beginning to break things...)

Any guidence on correcting the ftp error would be greatly appreciated.

Is this happening for one client or server-wide? If that's happening for one client, what was the connection type for his/her FTP software (CuteFTP or WS_FTP), PASV or PORT or something else?
