can't open whm from my browser

I've installed whm on a new server
during the installation it gives me this error
Failed (exit code 16777215). Please add external nameservers to /etc/resolv.conf and run upcp again.
my dns is in the resolv.conf file and I can resolve with no problem.

the installation completed .

but when i try to open WHM from my browser "http:/cpanel.mydomain.com:2086" it takes very long time and then come with "The connection has timed out"
please help

please post your /etc/resolv.conf here, it should looks like this

cat /etc/resolv.conf
nameserver ip address which is not in the server
nameserver ip address

you might wanna run

/scripts/upcp --force

then try again
