Hi folks, I'm hoping someone here has experienced this before and knows the solution.

I have a few new servers (all RHEL 5 64 bit, Apache 2.2.22, cPanel 11.30.6 Build 6) and I've un-installed RVskin from all of them easily / successfully, BUT...

On just ONE of the servers I can't seem to get rid of the rvskin radio button in WHM > Tweak Settings > Display

    I've done the proper steps:

    - perl /root/rvadmin/uninstall.pl

    - rm -f /usr/local/cpanel/Cpanel/Rv* (I know some instructions say rv but my files started with a capital R)

    - crontab -e and removed the rvskin crons

    - service cpanel restart

    - service ipaliases restart

and of course the almight --force upcp

    even rebooted the server completely

Yes still, on this *one server* the rvskin radio button remains in Tweak Settings, while on all others it's gone.

Can anyone tell me if I'm simply overlooking something obvious?

Thank you for any opinions / advice!

    Hi

Check the cPanel configuration file for any entries related to rvskin.

    Thank you

    Hello :)

You may want to consult with RVSkin directly to check for any additional steps required to remove their application. Otherwise, feel free to remove this option manually from the following file:

    # /var/cpanel/cpanel.config

    Thank you.

You can update this configuration file via:

    Code:
    # /usr/local/cpanel/whostmgr/bin/whostmgr2 --updatetweaksettings
However, you may need to consult with RVSkin directly to determine which specific value they use in the "/var/cpanel/cpanel.config" file.

    Thank you.

Thanks for the advice, I suppose that's what I'll have to do. I just didn't/don't need yet another item to support and get support for.

I have no desire for the RVskin but it comes automatically with new servers from my data center and there is not an option to order a server without it. And if I ask them how to remove rvskin I'm told just "perl /root/rvadmin/uninstall.pl" which we all know right from the rvskin faq, and when I called in about this little left-behind annoyance the tech I spoke to wasn't sure what to tell me.

So... I thought I'd try here first to see if anyone else has already run into this and knew how to easily dispense with the issue.

But, alas, I'll have to resort to contacting yet another third-party support for stuff I don't even want on my servers.

    Many thanks for your replies!
