You are looking at the wrong log file, when you try to send email, the server use MTA(exim), please take look at the /var/log/exim_mainlog and see what kind of error you are getting.

    hope that helps

    Hello,

Even I was getting the same

    Error:
    ----------

Gid 32395 is not permitted to relay mail, or has directly called /usr/sbin/exim instead of /usr/sbin/sendmail.

    Solution:
    -----------
The issue resolved after firing the following command:

    # /scripts/exim --force

    Thanks & Regards,
