I need to know if it's only me or did this change really occur since I can't find any other thread related to this problem. I use current build 11.28.7 and usually when i go into the mail queue I check what emails are stuck in there and press the deliver button and I get the connection info, and i can also see why delivery failed. Since a past update, I press the deliver button and all I get is:

Delivery attempt for Message ID 1PBULa-0001Qd-Ny

Return to Mail Queue

No info. That's for all the emails stuck in the queue. If this was a change on purpose, why would you ever do that since the info that was displayed was very useful. If anybody could shed some light on this i would really appreciate it.

Thanks in advance.

Mail queue problems after upgrade to 11.28

I seem to have minor problems with the mail queues on all my servers that have been update.

First of all the order of the mails is messed up, I don't have them ordered on age anymore.

Second I cannot get in teh mail queue when there are more than 1000 mails in the queue. I do get the button to click on, but when I click it, nothing happens.

Last I on't get any report when trying to deliver a message that is in queue. It only says: Delivery attempt for Message ID 1PWGxa-000814A-HE , nothing else.

Perhaps someone else that has the same issues? Or am I the only one and did I mess something up?

Noticed earlier they weren't in any logical order, but wasn't sure if they were previously.

On the 1000 mails front however, just found that one myself both in FF and IE. Suspect it's missing the "bypass" command as it just seems to be going to /scripts2/vieweximq and I'm sure there used to be something else on the end of that.

I have exactly the same.

The first change I noticed was that the queue now displays the sender and recipient address - that is a welcome change for me at least.

The second one is that the queue is no longer ordered by date received. This really needs to be put back unless there is an option hidden in some other settings section that affects how it is ordered. If there is an option, it needs to be made clear.

After seeing this post, I checked the output of deliver now and can confirm that mine just outputs a few blank lines. It did this on both a message to an offline server that timed out and a message to an online server that was delivered successfully.

I'm running 11.28.35 upgraded last night.

I haven't tested the >1000 issue because my server never gets that kind of queue on it - the joys of spam filtering that works ;)

As an additional one, I have noticed that some messages now have "UnFreeze" instead of "Delete" in the mail queue too. This is a pain because I sometimes scan down the list and delete mails. It'll slow things down considerably if I now have to open each individual message to click delete..

I wonder why nobody has aknowledged my post. I just found this:

http://forums.cpanel.net/f43/mail-queue-problems-after-upgrade-11-28-a-172129.html

But that's about it. No answer from CPanel, no nothing from anybody else. Are we the only ones that have seen this change and does not like them?
I agree with the other post, about the "unfreeze" and delete options changed. What can we do to get back what we had before. All info that appeared when we asked to try to deliver again was useful, now we don't get anything. I hope someone from CPanel can tell us what the deal is.

Thanks..

Thank YOU pacog71 :) for taking the time to report the issue clearly and concisely as you did. No it's not just you.

That was very useful functionality that cPanel has removed... it allowed us to give the message a push and/or see WHY the message was being delayed.

As a temporary workaround, from a root shell prompt...

[email protected] [~]# # show the queue (with message-ids)
[email protected] [~]# exim -bp

[email protected] [~]# # (force) deliver message by message-id
[email protected] [~]# exim -v -M <message-id>

There are loads more exim, exigrep, and exiqgrep commands, I have started using This Exim Cheat Sheet

I hope that helps,
Marty
