Just curious, why does eAccelerator no longer appear in EasyApache?

It was an easy-to-configure opcode cache...not perfect, but stable and fairly effective.

    Thanks,

    Mark

    Hi,

We're running WHM 11.38.1 (build 6). When we choose PHP 5.3.27 or earlier, eAccelerator is an option. If we choose 5.4.17, it is not.

    Thanks,

    Mark

    Hello :)

eAccelerator was previously incompatible with PHP version 5.4. Thus, it's intentionally disabled in the EasyApache build profile when PHP 5.4 is selected. The master branch of eAccelerator now supports version PHP 5.4, and we have an internal case open to include support for eAccelerator with PHP 5.4. For reference, the internal case number is 60467. There is currently no time frame available on if/when it will be implemented.

    Thank you.

    Hi markb14391,

The EasyApache team hopes to add support for eAccelerator in the near future. As cPanelMichael mentioned now that there is support for eAccelerator in PHP 5.4 we can enable it when building EasyApache with PHP 5.4.

    Thanks for the inquiry!

BTW, any idea on the timeframe (e.g., days, weeks or months)?

    Thanks,

    Mark

    Hi Mark,

The EasyApache team has started implementing the newest version of eAccelerator. Please watch the forums and EasyApache change log for our release announcement. It's our hope to have eAccelerator for PHP 5.4 released very soon.

    Thanks!
