I am unable to backup my mysql database using the Backups feature in cPanel anymore. Only 20 bytes are downloaded and if I try to export in phpmyadmin I get an error message of:
Firefox can't find the file at https ... :2083/cpsess4831071423/3rdparty/phpMyAdmin/export.php

I have two tables that have 388,828 rows each. I can't export these individually either.

Any tips?

Hello :)

Do you have root access to this server? If so, please check the cPanel error log while attempting to download the database backup. The cPanel error log is located at:

Code:
/usr/local/cpanel/logs/error_log
There should be output that will help identify the specific reason the database backup is empty.

Thank you.

Evidently this is a KNOWN bug in cPanel that was adressed in the [11.38.1.3 ] release. However, the current STABLE release for cPanel is [11.38.0]

cPanel - push out a stable release with your fix.

Thank you.

Any idea is when it will be pushed, as many of our customers are using this critical feature on a daily basis.

cPanel 11.38.1 was pushed to the RELEASE tier today. You can always see which version is in each tier by browsing this page:

Downloads - cPanel Inc.

Right now there is no timeframe for when 11.38.1 will be pushed to STABLE, but it is the only remaining tier that is still 11.38.0.

The backup is up and running again. Thank you for the quick fix.

For reference, the internal case number associated with this issue is 70485. It's resolved as of cPanel version 11.38.1.3.

Thank you.

For anyone following this thread, the STABLE release was patched (11.38.0.19 → 11.38.1.6) today at 17:51:59 GMT.
