Hello,

I am having issues with full backups.

Once i go to users Cpanel account, click on Backup (generate full backups -> home directory), this finishes in couple of seconds.

This account is around 8GB big, but, once backup is completed, the size is 10kb.

Hello :)

Is the size of the archive 10Kb when checked directly via the command line, or is that the size of the archive when you download it from cPanel?

Thank you.

Do you notice any specific errors in /usr/local/cpanel/logs/error_log when the backup is generated?

Thank you.

Looks like not ://

Could this have to do anything with "new" backup system and legacy?

Thanks

It depends on the specific error output. You can paste it here after removing any identifying information (e.g. usernames/hostname). Or, you can submit a ticket and we can take a closer look:

Submit A Ticket

You can provide the ticket number here and we can update this thread with the outcome.

Thank you.

I don't get it.

I would like to download the site (backup) to my PC.

If i do, site is 10 bytes.

Something is wrong here.

Problem is:
Tweak Settings\Compression\use pigz (current set to on)

turn pigz to off.

Updating tweak settings...

Your changes have been saved.

Restarting cPanel daemons...done.

Updating your system to reflect any changes...

Updating Use pigz from On to Off.
Use pigz was updated.

Done.

Problem solved.

Thanks CPanel (David N).

There have been a couple of reports where generating a full backup from the cPanel interface can result in a 10 byte backup file due to a lack of available cPanel memory. This is happening when Pigz is enabled. The temporary workaround has been to increase the cPanel memory limit in "Tweak Settings". For reference, the internal case number is 71901. If anyone else is experiencing this issue on cPanel version 11.38.1, please open a support ticket and reference the case number so we can attempt to reproduce this behavior.

Thank you.
