I am using Cpanel 11.42(build 20) and having problem in creating subdomains with .(dot) in between . In previous versions it allowed me to create the subdomains.

Like abc.def.domain.com it gives an error. Says "def.domain.com" does not exist.

Anyone facing the same problem ? Please reply with a solution.

Hello :)

I have not been able to reproduce this issue. Could you specify the type of domain name you are adding the subdomain to? For instance, is it the primary domain name of the account, an addon domain name, or another subdomain?

Thank you.

I'm having the exact same issue (cPanel 11.42(build 20)). I have 11 primary domains and adding sub domains to any of them that include a dot in the sub domain brings up the same error as report.

For example this.that.domain.com reports an error of "that.domain.com" does not exist. Single word subdomains work. I also not that this error was not present in cPanel 11.40.

Hello

I tried to create subdomain test.work.domain.com but encountered with the same error.
There was a problem creating the sub-domain: The domain “work.domain.com” does not exist.

I am using WHM 11.42.0 (build 21) .Is there any restriction with subdomain creation in latest cPanel version.
Because earlier versions support dot(.) in subdomain name.

Hello,

I am able to reproduce this on 11.42. I filed case 93761 to investigate why the change was made.

A resolution stemming from internal case 93761 is tentatively scheduled for inclusion with cPanel version 11.42.1. There are currently no workarounds available beyond manual additions of the subdomain to the Apache configuration files and DNS zones.

Thank you.

As I have number of servers with me and I cannot add manual additions of subdomain for each server . So can you please tell me how I can do this in number of servers all at once ? And also if you can tell me how to edit in Apache configuration files and DNS zones if there is no simple solution.

Hello

I have upgraded the Cpanel version to 11.42.1.1 Edge Tier and subdomain creation also worked out but with a error.
Subdomains created successfully and also I am able to open the subdomain on browser.

Please check the error below:
There was a problem creating the sub-domain: The subdomain, test.file.zone.info.domain.com has been added.: Unable to set up domain keys for 'test.file.zone.info.domain.com': Cpanel::DnsUtils:594: Empty dns zone file.zone.info.domain.com
