Migrating accounts that uses mailman and its archives is very troublesome! I am talking about cPanel server to cPanel server migrations. If the archive is too large, the migration will not move the mbox file over. Or even worse, sometimes it only does a partial restore of the archives.
Or as I seen this morning it will restore some list archives while bombing on other list archives. This happened under the same cPanel account.
Or even better yet, I tried a workaround and just manually packaged the cPanel account on the old server, FTPed the cpmove file over to the new cPanel server, and same thing. Some archives were rebuilt while others were not. The funny thing is ALL of the archives are in the full cpmove file.
Or here is something else, when terminating a cPanel account, the archives are left behind! Not removed.
So cPanel can we have some special attention given to the migration/termination of Mailman list archives. Because right now they are not handled correctly at all and this behavior has been happening for years.
