I tried editing the starttomcat script but it didn't seem to help...

it appears the -verbose command line is getting sent to the jsvc no matter what and I *think* that's what's causing all this to show up in my catalina.out when tomcat starts:

    [Loaded java.lang.Object from /usr/local/jdk1.5.0_13/jre/lib/rt.jar]
    [Loaded java.io.Serializable from /usr/local/jdk1.5.0_13/jre/lib/rt.jar]
    [Loaded java.lang.Comparable from /usr/local/jdk1.5.0_13/jre/lib/rt.jar]
    [Loaded java.lang.CharSequence from /usr/local/jdk1.5.0_13/jre/lib/rt.jar]
    [Loaded java.lang.String from /usr/local/jdk1.5.0_13/jre/lib/rt.jar]

    [Loaded java.lang.reflect.Type from /usr/local/jdk1.5.0_13/jre/lib/rt.jar]
    [Loaded java.lang.reflect.AnnotatedElement from /usr/local/jdk1.5.0_13/jre/lib/rt.jar]
    [Loaded java.lang.Class from /usr/local/jdk1.5.0_13/jre/lib/rt.jar]
    [Loaded java.lang.Cloneable from /usr/local/jdk1.5.0_13/jre/lib/rt.jar]
    [Loaded java.lang.ClassLoader from /usr/local/jdk1.5.0_13/jre/lib/rt.jar]
    [Loaded java.lang.System from /usr/local/jdk1.5.0_13/jre/lib/rt.jar]
    [Loaded java.lang.Throwable from /usr/local/jdk1.5.0_13/jre/lib/rt.jar]
    [Loaded java.lang.Error from /usr/local/jdk1.5.0_13/jre/lib/rt.jar]
    [Loaded java.lang.ThreadDeath from /usr/local/jdk1.5.0_13/jre/lib/rt.jar]
    [Loaded java.lang.Exception from /usr/local/jdk1.5.0_13/jre/lib/rt.jar]

and it goes on and on. I dont need to see every class loading. How do i turn this off?

    Thanks in advance,
    Wilt

    Which one are you editing?

I edited /usr/sbin/starttomcat and removed -verbose from the command line. Next I shut down Tomcat, moved the existing logs out of the way and executed starttomcat. And lo! No class loading messages!

Thanks for the response. I was mistakenly editing the one in:

    /usr/local/cpanel/modules-install/tomcat-Linux-i686/scripts

    Thanks again!
