Is anyone here running CentOS 4.1 x86_64 and cPanel? Is it stable enough to do so? If not, when can we expect a release of cPanel that is compatible with CentOS 4.1 64-bit?

    Thanks.

    Go on, have a guess
If it's not supported according to the front of the cPanel site, then you'd have to ask cPanel that question through their contact details on their main site.

CentOS 4.1 32bit works, however I do not know the status of 64bit.

    Regards,

Any update on this...Is 64-bit CentOS 4.1 a good way to go? What is the most stable CentOS setup?

Go 32bit even if your processor supports 64bit. I find 64bit takes up more resources than 32bit and some parts of cPanel fail to work properly but still work...

Thought about running the new dualcore opteron and asked in the CentOS forum regarding this and the answer i got back was that if you want to run dual opteron core you will need the the x86_64 smp kernel for CentOS-4.1.
