Next time you run UPCP, you'll see "Update 24 Package(s)" in the list. So far it seems there are updates for BIND, OpenSSL and OpenSSH amongst loads more.

EDIT: Correction, that was the first stage. Come the dependancies bit, it totals to more than 130 packages!

    Hi,

I have upgraded my own office machine to 5.2, however I haven't touched any cPanel boxes running CentOS 5.

My question is; is it safe to upgrade to CentOS 5.2 on a cPanel system?

Is it just to do a yum upgrade?

    Thanks :)

I can tell you this much, new installations are failing badly. That is if you install CentOS via the online CentOS repositories. I have setup 3 VPS's and all failed due to CentOS 5.2

Went without any issues here, however it was a bit slow compared to the upgrade done earlier in the day (local time).

    Go on, have a guess
I've only had one problem on all the servers I've upped to v5.2 (which will happen automatically for most when sysup runs as part of upcp). That one was down to a dependency issue with bind-chroot. Other than that, no problems at all. Be aware that it also includes a new kernel, so a reboot will also be needed.

Oh, and it'll trigger mails from CSF if you use it.

it seems that build-in yum plugin fastest mirror is not working very well, so had to remove it in order to install postgresql and some other non-cpanel packages.
