cPanel works just fine on CentOS 3.4. Instead of rebuilding, you can also upgrade quite easily from RH9 to CentOS - do a search on the web for a guide.

No issues to report with upgrading from Centos 3.3 to 3.4 on servers with cPanel installed - I haven't done a fresh cPanel install directly on a server running 3.4 yet but I don't assume any issues - The folks who have, or cPanel support will be able to clear that one for sure. :)

I've conversed with cPanel about it a few days after it was released and they've already tested it successfully with an advance copy.

by the way which iso to download
should they download this only ?
    CentOS-3.4-i386-Server.iso 20-Jan-2005 16:44 674M
for example when i go to http://acmserver.cs.ucr.edu/centos/centos/3.4/isos/i386/
i find an iso called CentOS-3.4-i386-Server.iso
is this the only required cd to burn
or they should download and burn
    CentOS-3.4-i386-disc1.iso
    CentOS-3.4-i386-disc2.iso
    CentOS-3.4-i386-disc3.iso
    instead ??

i have sent my DC email with the download link and they will get me a new server running it on wed. probably
i will post my experience as soon as i manage to test its performance :)
    wish me luck guys :D

They will need these iso's to do the Centos install

    CentOS-3.4-i386-disc1.iso
    CentOS-3.4-i386-disc2.iso
    CentOS-3.4-i386-disc3.iso

Thanks Chirpy for official clarification on 3.4 - I wasn't sure if /etc/redhat-release would cause the cpanel installer to barf, easily fixed but something that would be a gotcha for a newby installing cpanel maybe if it failed to recognise the new version. :)

There is no need to download the 3 ISO's just get the -server ISO. It is built to install just as it would using the 3 ISO's with server install option selected.

FYI: Since we've upgrade RH8 to CentOS 3.4 our server load is only 50% of what it was before.
