Good morning all,

I woke up very eager to install the new Centova Cast control panel along side of WHM/cPanel. However, when reading the docs I found something a little discouraging (/http://www.centova.com/doc/cast/installation_manual/03_custom_installation).

================
Third-Party Control Panels

If you are using a third-party hosting control panel (CPanel, Plesk, etc.) on the same server as Centova Cast, the control panel may also require preparation.

Specifically:

*If you want to use Centova Cast's port 80 proxy, you must ensure that your other control panel does not attempt to configure its web server on Centova Cast's IP address. This will result in a port conflict, which will cause Centova Cast and/or your control panel's web server to fail to start.

*If you want to use Centova Cast's FTP server, you must ensure that your other control panel does not attempt to configure its FTP server on Centova Cast's IP address. This will result in a port conflict, which will cause Centova Cast and/or your control panel's FTP server to fail to start.

Please consult the documentation for your control panel for assistance in configuring it to exclude an IP address from its control.
================

Personally I would love to have Centova Cast and cPanel coexist. Is this possible? Too risky? And is there a way to "exclude an IP address" from WHM?

Thanks!

You should be asking this question on centova's forums as i am guessing cpanel is going to be your main software so you will want to get centova working with cpanel.

I did make a post on the Centova forum, same day actually. As far as I can tell it's best to keep these two control panels separate. Otherwise usernames will clash, ports too (21/80), etc.

I think I'm going to play it safe to ensure a smooth ride for the streamers. Believe me, I wish Centova v3+ and cPanel could coexist on a higher level.

I am about to play with the new version myself, but I don't plan on using a cpanel server as the new version is a standalone.

good luck.

Cool, me too, tomorrow in fact. I tested the Centova Cast v3 Beta version a while back. I can't wait to see the stable release. It's a shame cPanel and Centova aren't more compatible.
