After moving the account to a new server with a higher version of system PHP (5.4 instead of 5.2), a customer reports issues with Squirrelmail not displaying subjects on the overview list for certain encodings. Below is a header he provided as a sample.

Hello :)

Could you let us know the version of cPanel installed on this system?

Code:
cat /usr/local/cpanel/version
Thank you.

It seems like the same issue reported here:

SquirrelMail / Bugs / #2806 quoted printable text appears blank

Could you review that link and confirm if it's the same issue you are experiencing?

Note: Please ensure you update cPanel to the latest version of your build tier. cPanel version 11.42.0.15 is now available for those on the "Edge" and "Current" build tiers. It's not going to resolve this particular issue, but it's important you keep your cPanel version up to date.

Thank you.

Yes, that is the same issue.

Note: Only running Current for the moment as the weekly option from the new backup system was a must for the new servers, plan to switch back to Release tier as soon as it receives 11.42. Having to wait a bit longer on Release tier for this fix is not a problem, as long as it is coming.

We do have an internal case open (#89589) regarding this issue. However, it's important to note that the flaw is with SquirrelMail itself, and it's not common practice for us to patch an issue with third-party applications. Currently, there are no immediate plans to address this issue in cPanel itself until Squirrelmail issues an update. I believe an individual user has posted a patch for the issue in the thread referenced in my last reply. While we can not verify it's authenticity, you are welcome to review and implement that patch as a manual workaround if necessary.

Thank you.

There are no planned patches for SquirrelMail in the near future. When SquirrelMail has a new release, we will update our bundled copy to include any changes/bug fixes that SquirrelMail has addressed.

Thank you.
