Hello,

I have a client useing cgi and they can create a cgi script and it works fine..

Here is the tricky part, its a test cgi script, so they put in a folder in the cgi bin, well i has been chomd 777 and the folder also...

and the error we are getting is
PHP:
Internal Server Error

Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error
or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, xxxxxxx@xxxxxxxx.xxx and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

Additionallya 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
Apache/1.3.29 Server at xxx.xxxxx.xxx Port 80
We in fact i tested the script in the cgi bin and it works...

this works /cgi/simple.cgi
this doesnt /cgi/test/simple.cgi

Please help..

Go on, have a guess
If you have PHPSuexec/SuExec enabled, then you should CHMOD 755 directories and CHMOD 711 files otherwise you will trip permission violations.

You don't say whether you're using a PHP CGI or a Perl CGI script. If the latter, then you could also check the following log files immediately after you generate the error for more information:

/etc/httpd/logs/error_log
/etc/httpd/logs/suexec_log
