cgi scripts giving "suexec failure: could not open log file" error

    cPanel Access Level:
    Root Administrator
    I've checked file ownership, and permissions of the cgi scripts, but I keep getting:

    suexec failure: could not open log file
    fopen: Permission denied
    Premature end of script headers: filename.pl

    Where should I be looking?

    I got the same problem and my default php handler was cgi. I have fixed my issue by changing the handler to Suphp
