Hello. I'm new managing cPanel and I would like to know if it is possible to install/remove or upgrade/downgrade software from cPanel.

For example, Apache 1.3 -> 2.0, MySQL 4.1 -> 4.0 or install other modules or software.
    Thanks.

Regarding Apache in particular, I would recommend you only do that through the cPanel interface. If you are using a version of cPanel that does not support Apache 2, this prevents you from inadvertently using Apache 2. However if you're using a version of cPanel that does support Apache 2 (currently AFAIK only EDGE supports this) then you will be able to upgrade to Apache 2.

The screen for doing this Apache upgrade is in the WHM interface by going to "Software" and clicking on "Apache update."

I know QA is currently doing some things with EasyApache2 but that functionality should be back sooner than later :)

Regarding MySQL, note that the current version of MySQL is version 5, versions 4.1 and 4.0 should be considered deprecated according to the MySQL Lifecycle Policy: http://www.mysql.com/company/legal/lifecycle/

You may be able to select the version of MySQL to use in Tweak settings.

For RPMs, you can install RPMs in WHM by going to Software -> Install a RPM

For Perl Modules, you can install those in WHM by going to Software -> Install a Perl Module
