I'm moving old server (no cpanel) to new server that using cpanel. my old server is now using "/home/username/www" format for default html directory, but cpanel using "/home/username/public_html", i was wondering how i could change this default html directory at cpanel.

It shouldn't make any difference because cpanel also creates a www symbolic link to point to public_html, so they're basically one and the same. Users can use either one for most situations.

    Yes

A symlink is created in shell. To see how it works, in a shell screen type either:
    ln --help
    or
    man ln

Stop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Click to expand...
