I'd like to change the default port for SSH to another port below the 1024 range. (As suggested on this article in the cPanel Knowledge Base). I came up with port 404, which as far as I can tell is not used by any service running on the server. It does however seem to be dedicated to a service called nced. I don't know what that is and cannot find much information about is.

Could I use port 404 without any conflict for SSH?
