I just migrated 57 domains from an Ensim box to cPanel. I now have a problem in that cPanel truncates the length of the username to 8 characters. Since there was no such restriction in Ensim, many usernames on the sites were more than 8 characters in length. Many of my users cannot log on now. Also, I had many sites controlled by one or two users. cPanel only allows a unsername to be used one time. This is a big headache for me. Any workarounds?
Unfortunately the character limit is not something that can be directly modified. Most people use variations of numbers or extra letters after the username to acommodate this.
