I just had a customer change their theme to "x2" and couldn't figure out how to get it back to something usable. I see I still have the outdated "x" and "x2" themes on this server.

To prevent this from happening again, I did the following:

1) I created /var/cpanel/themes.conf and put x3 and paper_lantern in there
2) I removed the /usr/local/cpanel/base/frontend/x and /usr/local/cpanel/base/frontend/x2 directories

I thought, OK, that must fix this. BUT, when I log in as the user, and click the icon to "Change Style" I am still being offered x.

Am I confusing "themes" and "styles" or are they the same thing? How can I remove "x" from the "Change Style" area? FYI, I'm on 11.44 Stable, if it matters.

Hello :)

Could you verify which specific steps you took to change the theme? Also, could you confirm you have read the previous responses to this thread?

Thank you.

Anyone? This is really stupid because I shouldnt even have this problem in the first place. Why there is no option to change your theme back or to another one is ridiculous. If "X" is an outdated and useless theme, why even bother keeping it as an option. Now because I was curious I can't do anything, a third of the options and links are gone on cPanel which included the options to change the theme back. And the ones that are there don't work they way they were working in X3. Is there any other way of changing a theme manually.
