I have 12 domains on a shared IP. I want to move one of them to a different IP so that I can install SSL on it.

This site is very active and I do not want to have any down time.

In WHM, under Account Functions/ Change Sites IP Address, There is: Warning: Changing a site's ip address may cause it to appear down from some locations until the dns has propgated to all nameservers on the internet.

Is there anyway of making this change without down time?

    Thanks

well this is how i would go about it

change DNS records for domain.com from 14400 to 900 ( approx 15 minute)

    wait 24 hours

then change sites IP address. The change should be almost instant but could take upto 30 min worldwide.

i'd move the other 11 "unimportant" domains to the new ip and use the first ip for the ssl. That way your main site doesn't see any downtime guaranteed.

add a virtualhost directive for both ips in the apache.conf
