I have been required to re-IP a box. Done some of the work, but am put off by a dire warning message in the reseller shared IP delegation page which says:

Important: Customers must ftp to ftp.theirdomain.com for ftp to work correctly. They cannot ftp to theirdomain.com if you change their main shared ip. (Note: theirdomain.com should be replaced with the user's actual domain.)

I THINK what I need to do is change this shared IP first, despite the dire warning, then change all the site IPs en masse to the new one using the function for that purpose.

Should this work? Will doing this kill FTP or is the warning intended for situations where you change the shared IP but not the site IP?
